The Alizeti 300C conversion system has been designed to adapt to the majority of today’s on road bikes, but with new designs being offered every day it is sometimes difficult to determine proper compatibility. Here are some guidelines you can use to determine a proper fit. The main point to consider is that the Alizeti 300C has been designed to fit your bike in a similar fashion to a bike rack. If your bike can accept a rear bike rack it most probably will also be compatible with our e-bike system.
Wheel Size And Tread Pattern
The Alizeti e-bike system has been designed to work best with a medium to low tread pattern that is quite common on most road bikes today. Tires with very knobby treads may not be the best option for this system and should be replaced with tires with a smoother tread pattern for optimal performance and traction.
The Alizeti 300C has not been designed for off-road applications. Attempting to use the system on a mountain bike for off-road riding will eventually damage the system. We do not recommend installing the Alizeti 300C system onto any bike that has been designed mainly for off-road applications.
The Alizeti 300C has been designed for ease of installation. The mounting rack provides even weight distribution and since the weight is mostly at the rear of the bike, it allows the bike to have better traction on loose gravel roads without skidding. The rack can also be used to carry a rear pannier or side bags (up to 25 lbs) just like a typical bike rack so you don’t lose any of the functionality you would normally need on a bike.
With the Alizeti Power Drive System, you have the ability to use the friction wheel to assist you when braking. Regenerative charging will increase resistance to slow you down and charge up the batteries during the breaking process. The amount of energy that can be recuperated by regenerative braking over the course of an e-bike trip can be as much as 5-10%. This is not a huge amount but will provide some additional range as well as help save some wear and tear on your brake pads.
When selecting an e-bike or e-bike conversion system, overall weight is a big consideration that you should understand to make the correct choice. Typical e-bikes today can commonly weigh up to 50 pounds or more. When using the electric assistance, a cyclist may not feel the impact of the overall weight of the bike, but when pedaling with no electric assistance the weight factor becomes apparent very quickly. The advantage of the Alizeti 300C is that the entire system including batteries weighs less than 13 Lb. This means that if you must continue cycling once the battery is depleted it won’t be unpleasant or difficult due to excessive overall weight.
The assistance provided by an e-bike allows cyclists to ride further than they might otherwise be able to. The same amount of effort that would allow a conventional bike to cover 10 miles or 16 km can carry e-bike cyclists closer to 20 miles or 32 km when combined with the power generated by an e-bike motor.
