Yes, the Alizeti system was designed to meet the legal requirements of typical road traffic. You should always obey the road regulations in your area as different areas may have different road regulation.
Do I have to bring my bike to a bike shop to have the installation done?
No, the Alizeti Power Drive is designed to be an easy retrofit solution that can be assembled by the customer quickly and easily. Assembly requires no special skills or special tools. You should typically allow 15-30 minutes for assembly. Installation time may vary depending on the bicycle.
How far can I go with the Alizeti Power Drive?
The actual distance will depend on a few physical factors including pedaling power of the cyclist, steep terrain, and weight of the cyclist. However, full-day riding is possible with only one battery charge. Since Alizeti adds no additional friction at all when not in use distance can be extended by using the motor selectively to overcome hills or terrain where more effort is required.
Can I ride without pedaling at all?
The Alizeti Power Drive is designed to augment the power and range of a cyclist. We have also designed some very important safety features into our system, which will avoid any accidental acceleration by requiring the cyclist to pedal to 5km before the system will be activated. Once the rider has reached a speed of 5km per hour the Alizeti Power Drive can be used without peddling until the battery charge is depleted.
Does the friction roller work in the rain or on wet roads?
Yes, the Alizeti Power Drive system incorporates a special coating on the friction roller to optimize maximum power transfer even in wet conditions.
Do I need to dismantle the system when I want to ride my bicycle "normally"?
No, the Alizeti Power Drive system can be automatically disengaged so you can enjoy riding your bike normally with zero resistance even when the system is off or the batteries are depleated.
Are special tires required with the Alizeti Power Drive System?
For maximum friction transfer, we recommend that smooth tread tires be used with our system. Smoother tires will allow for a quieter ride and are better suited for most urban areas. For riders who frequent off-road routes and need a coarser tread, we recommend tires with a smoother profile. In addition, broader tires provide better suspension comfort and a more efficient power transmission between the tire and friction roller.
How much does a full battery charge cost?
Fully charging your batteries typically costs about 3 cents. Actual costs may vary depending on electricity rates in your area.
How long does it take to charge the battery?
A full charge typically takes 1 hour.
Does the battery recharge during braking?
Yes, the Alizeti Power Drive System takes full advantage of regenerative braking to help extend the charge of your battery when riding.
Can I use more than one battery?
Yes, we have designed our system to be able to use one or two batteries simultaneously so the rider can determine the best combination for his or her distance and ride requirements. For extreme long distances, an additional battery can be used and for shorter rides one battery can be used which will allow for less overall weight and efficiency.
How many charge-cycles can the battery take?
The cell manufacturer guarantees 500 full charge-cycles. But because the battery is rarely completely discharged und recharged, this number increases significantly. In reality, it will take 2-3 years until you will feel a loss in the maximum reach, even with daily use.
How do I store and maintain the battery optimally during storage?
When the battery is not going to be used for a longer period of time, e.g. during the winter months, you should charge or discharge the battery to half capacity and store it in a cool place. Self-discharging of the battery is considerably lower than with conventional rechargeable batteries. However, you should verify the charge status every three months and recharge it to half capacity if required.
How long will my tires last?
This question will strongly depend on the type of tires used and your style of breaking. In general, we recommend using high-quality tires that user normal usage, will only have minimally increased wear.
Do I need special breaks for the Alizeti Power Drive System?
Any bikes break system will work, but we do recommend inspecting your breaks before using the Alizeti Power Drive System to ensure optimum riding saftey.

Throttle assist refers to a manual type of assist where the cyclist twists a throttle located on the handlebars and can get assistance from the motor.
